For an early-stage startup, there should be a feeling of constant learning. We have been having our share of such aha moments.

One such insight has been the unintended (but always welcome 😀) users that we have been attracting to Provision AI.

First, some context.

An overwhelming majority of the tools available to build workflows with AI are focused on a technical audience. There are a ton of good (and a lot of noisy) products in this space.

To get a sense of the choices available to build AI experiences, take a look at a recent infographic courtesy of Madrona, with new options coming out regularly.

Some more context.

Provision AI is being developed as a no-code space for business users that collapses AI models, tools, and integrations, abstracting it all under a conversational interface. So the more developer-focused tools there are, the more we have an opportunity to enrich the Provision AI platform. In other words, we love the infographic above!

So, what was the insight?

As soon as we invited early access users to play with Provision AI, a good percentage of responses have been technical and semi-technical personas. So why would such individuals want to build on Provision AI despite an abundance of AI infrastructure tools?

We asked, and they shared their frustration in stitching together a reliable AI pipeline that is proving to be a complex web of dependencies and configurations, as well as distracting them from building the actual AI workflows to solve for business outcomes.

Our platform's increasing ability to seamlessly integrate pre-trained models, provide real-time data processing, and offer intuitive user interfaces seems to be a significant advantage.

We continue to learn the possibilities of Provision AI, along with our growing community. We hope you will join us in our quest to make building with AI accessible for all!

The Pivot

Last year and before Provision AI, we simply wanted to use generative AI and solve for problems we experienced. In this way, we were like many dreamers exploring the AI possibilities. Initially, it allowed parents like us, to generate personalized stories using text, images, audio, and video. Then, it involved helping entrepreneurs automate social media management with content creation and user engagement. Most recently, we tackled the improvement of the college student experience through a personal university student assistant.

We saw traction with each. Thousands of users were able to engage with the initial versions of these products. For example, our college student assistant pilot was present at hundreds of campuses across North America with a reach that touched 60K+ students.

We learnt two things:

  1. An enormous need for an end-to-end multi-AI-agent service that abstracts any technical know-how for the end-user.

  2. A significant gap in tooling to take a product idea from concept to the user's hands without it becoming just another ChatGPT wraparound.

These insights led to our first major pivot in February 2024, when we began building Provision AI.

Provision AI has two main personas in mind:

  1. Non-tech users in office settings across any industry or business function. These users are looking to integrate AI into their workspaces. This is a trillion-dollar-plus untapped space where 88% of genAI use cases are expected to be driven by non-tech users, yet no zero-code (and by this we mean truly no-code) multi-agent AI builder experience available.

  2. A product builder, who has to stitch a variety of dev heavy infrastructure tooling before the real work of product development can begin. This is another untapped space with millions of disruptors wanting to build multi-agent experiences.
